How to Access Our Off Ice Classes

Off ice is essential for skaters of all levels. In the sport of figure skating there are many different types of off ice that can improve a skaters standard of skating. We provide the best quality of training on the floor that lays the foundation of strength and technique that will carry over to your skating on the ice.

Our Classes

Ballet

Ballet training offers skaters poise, arm control, flow, and artistry that can be transferred directly to the ice. Our goal is to make this a warm, rewarding learning experience that supports both technical development and expressive performance. with strong emphasis on presence, posture, lines, and the finishing details that make all the difference in performance. Equipment needed…. ⁃A chair or mantle piece to hold as if a ballet bar. ⁃A mirror (optional but encouraged) ⁃Soft pumps / ballet shoes ⁃A floor, mat or carpet you can. slide your feet on easily and lie down on too. ⁃Hair back please! ⁃Tight or neat fitting clothes please so the coach can see your leg and arm extensions. ⁃A small towel or belt or dressing gown belt to help for stretching

Strength and Power

Excellent jumps on the ice require great technique, fast rotation and an elite standard of jumping. Build your strength and power to increase your jump hight. Equipment needed… ⁃Proper trainers ⁃Ankle weights. ⁃A stretch of wall to lean against ⁃Stretch band / resistance band

Flexibility

Skating requires a blend of flexibility and strength. It’s not just about stretching but stretching in the right way. Equipment needed. Yoga mat (optional) ⁃Sliders / smooth floor surface and socks ⁃Stretch band / resistance band ⁃A chair, step or other raised surface

Jumps Technique

Figure skating jumps done off the ice. Axels, Salchow, Toeloop, loop, flip snd lutz exercises to improve position and technique. Equipment needed… ⁃Proper trainers ⁃Ankle weights ⁃Stretch band / resistance band

Rotation

Figure skaters require very fast rotation. Here we do exercises to improve the speed of the rotation in your jumps. Equipment needed. Proper trainers ⁃Ankle weights ⁃Stretch band / resistance band
